Volunteer Reception 2026
-
04 June 2026
Today, we had the pleasure of celebrating our incredible volunteers at the Adam Smith Theatre, bringing together individuals whose dedication, passion and commitment make a lasting difference within our communities.
The event began with a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring representatives from Citizens Advice Scotland, Fife Voluntary Action and Fife Gingerbread. Each speaker shared insightful reflections and personal experiences of volunteering, offering a powerful reminder of the vital role volunteers play in supporting individuals and strengthening communities every day. Their stories highlighted not only the impact of volunteering on those receiving support, but also the personal growth and fulfilment it brings to those who give their time.
Following the panel, volunteers were invited to take part in a series of engaging taster workshops delivered by volunteers from WEA Scotland. The sessions offered a diverse range of learning opportunities, ensuring there was something for everyone. From an introduction to Gaelic and an intriguing true crime discussion, to sketching for mindfulness and an exploration of local history, the workshops provided a chance to learn new skills, spark curiosity and connect with others in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
The celebrations continued with our Volunteer Awards, where we proudly recognised individuals who have demonstrated exceptional loyalty and dedication through their long-standing service to our organisation. These awards were a heartfelt way to acknowledge the invaluable contributions our volunteers make and to thank them for their continued commitment.
Of course, no celebration would be complete without sharing time together over a delicious lunch. This provided a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to connect, reflect and celebrate their shared achievements in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Above all, the day was about recognising and appreciating the extraordinary efforts of our volunteers. Their time, skills and compassion make a real difference to the lives of others, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do.
