Volunteer with Purpose at CARF

There are many ways to get involved at CARF.  Whether you are looking to build skills, give back, or join a supportive community, here’s how you can volunteer with us.

Why do it?

  • Over 60% of the CARF team are trained volunteers — they are the lifeblood of the organisation

  • The service simply could not run without their amazing contribution

  • With more volunteers, we could help even more clients

  • You’ll get a buzz from helping yourself and those around you

  • Our volunteers are recruited from all age groups and backgrounds

  • You’ll meet new and interesting people

  • We provide a stimulating environment to volunteer in, with lots of different things to do

  • We have lots of experience in training, supporting, and developing volunteers, so there’s always someone around to support you

  • Our comprehensive bureau training and supervision programmes mean you will get lots of support along the way

  • You can learn new skills and improve your confidence

  • Lots of people who have been bureau volunteers move on to paid work or further education

  • You can help in a way that suits the time you can spare and the skills you can offer

  • All volunteers are reimbursed for out-of-pocket travel expenses

  • If you are in receipt of benefits, volunteering won’t affect your entitlement

  • If you are looking for a job, volunteering with CARF won’t affect your benefits

What’s in it for you?

Volunteering at CARF is interesting, challenging and stimulating.  But most of all, it's incredibly rewarding.

  • You will receive comprehensive training to enable you to undertake your chosen role
  • You will have the full support of your team, whatever role you choose
  • You will get the chance to use your existing skills and experience, as well as develop new skills
  • You will get the satisfaction and fulfilment that comes from knowing you helped when someone really needed it

There are lots of ways you can help.  You could advise clients, provide administrative support or help us campaign for change through social policy work.
