Take control through CARF

There are a number of different ways that the team at CARF can help you solve your problems. We won’t tell you what to do – that’s your choice – but we will explain your options and what the possible outcomes you might expect if you choose a particular course of action. We want to empower you to take control of your situation and get the best possible outcome for yourself.

And maybe next time you have a problem, you’ll be able to take action by yourself or get help sooner, which may which may well make it easier to deal with.

Solving problems – for everyone

As well as working with our clients to solve their problems, there’s more to what CARF does. We take the information provided to us by clients (always protecting your identity), anonymise it and then use it as evidence to show problems that affect lots of people.

This evidence makes it possible for us to campaign for policy changes where they’re needed. We work locally and nationally to highlight issues that affect people’s lives, joining together with Citizens Advice Scotland and other citizens advice bureaux across the UK to have a more powerful voice on your behalf.

This can help us to identify and even prevent other problems occurring.  This could stop them escalating into anything more serious.

Advice You Can Trust

When you come to CARF for advice, you can be confident you’ll receive a professional, high-quality service from fully trained advisers, including highly trained and supervised volunteers supported by paid staff.

Our team uses a trusted, specialist online information system developed and updated by Citizens Advice experts in London and Edinburgh, providing accurate, independent guidance across a wide range of areas.

As a quality-assured member of the Scottish Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux (Citizens Advice Scotland), our advice and organisational standards are regularly inspected to ensure we consistently meet and maintain the highest levels of service.
